Vickie Durfee has been taking pictures most of her life. In 2004, with the encouragement of family and friends, she took her photography to a professional level.  Since that decision, she has received many 1st place awards for her work. In 2008 she won "Best of Show" and "People's Choice" awards in fine art juried shows and was a featured story in the Bay City Times. Durfee was the recipient of both the People's Choice Award as well as receiving an Honorable Mention by juror, Scott Rice at the 2008 Watershed Art Project Christmas Juried Fine Art Exhibition in Grayling, Michigan.

Each photograph has a rich story and was taken by a photo artist who holds her subjects in deep respect and love. While she enjoys capturing people when they are natual and unaware of her presence, her passion lies with nature and wildlife.As a photo artists Vickie has traveled extensively in Alaska and Northern Canada as well as Hawaii, Utah, Arizona, Colorado and in her home state of Michigan. She has recently returned from a photo shoot in Ireland.
