Shonda Michelson
Photography

Shonda Michelson has been taking pictures for most of her life. She was always the one with the camera that everyone ran from. She still is. Although now people look forward to seeing the pictures she has taken of people, places and events. She truly enjoys capturing moments in time that can forever be looked back upon. Shonda takes pride in her work not only because she loves what she does, but also knowing that she can bring an occasion back to life through the images she has taken.

Michelson began taking photography courses in 1998 to advance her knowledge of the trade. Her grandparents supported her interest and encouraged her advancement by offering er their Yashica 35mm camara. The advanced features of the camara opened up a whole new world of image making. She has since moved on to digital photography, yet still enjoys the challenges that come with using film. In the summer of 2008 Michelson won 1st place in teh fine art catagory for her creative photography at the Roscommon Arts Festival. In May of 2009 she received Honorable Mention Award at the AuSable Valley Fine Arts Exhibition.

"I love to tell stories through pictures. After it's all said and done, the best part can be putting all of the photographs together in a way that words are not needed; the picturs say it all."
